Service 06
A record of what was built, not what was drawn.
Construction changes things. As-builts are the point at which those changes stop being someone’s memory and become a document the next person can rely on.
What the work involves
Field redlines are collected and reconciled against the issued design. Differences are resolved rather than averaged — where the record and the field disagree, someone has to establish which is right before it is drawn.
The result is a clean set showing the plant as it actually stands: route, placements, splice points, structures and the material that went in.
Why it is worth doing properly
An accurate record set is what your maintenance team works from, what your next contractor bids against, and what your locate requests depend on. A vague one turns every future job on that route into a small investigation.
It is also, in most programmes, a closeout condition — which means an incomplete set holds up more than just the drawings.
What you receive
Reconciled as-built drawing set
Route, placement and splice point detail as constructed
Material and structure records where required
Files in the format your records system accepts
Worth agreeing up front
What format your records team needs, who is collecting the field redlines, what level of detail your closeout requires, and whether anything has to be delivered into a client system rather than as files.

Send the redlines.
Tell us what format you need back and whether the original design is available.
Can you produce as-builts for work we designed elsewhere?
Yes. The reconciliation is easier when the original design is available, but it is not a requirement — the work can be done from the field record alone, and that is often the situation on older plant.
Tell us what you hold and what you need back, and we will tell you what is realistic from it.
